
Zen Buddhist practice in the Rinzai
tradition
with Tokuju Genshu Chris Ro, Osho
Genshu is a certified disciple of Denkyo Kyozan
Joshu Sasaki, Roshi. He trained continuously from 1987
2002 at Bodhi Manda Zen Center in New Mexico and Mt. Baldy
Zen Center in California. He was ordained in 1988 and he became
an Osho (Zen teacher) in 2001.
He graduated from Bennington College with
a B.A. in
visual art in 1986.
The Williamburg Zen Center was founded
in March 2002. Genshu is presently studying family practice
with wife Maureen Ellenhorn-Ro and son Genyu Jasper Ro. He
is working as a site supervisor.
The Diamond Sutra is the official sutra
of this temple.
Genshu is happy to give lectures
to all kinds of audiences as well as perform Buddhist wedding
ceremonies. He is also available for hire as a carpenter or
to handle complete renovations. The Zendo space is also available
for use for a wide variety of activities.
